K–10 Scholarship
Our most meaningful and impactful effort is our K-10 Scholarship Program (previously K-12), which enables student enrollment of underprivileged children from different parts of Nepal. Literally from the streets to the classroom, Yours Humanly Nepal removes children from harm’s way, enrolls them in their local school, and fully supports their educational experience by covering the full costs of tuition, uniforms, mid-day meals, books, study materials, school supplies, and all other educational needs from kindergarten through 10th grade (SEE). We also cover boarding school fees when students do not have a secure home environment or family. By partnering with the schools and monitoring student progress regularly, we ensure our Yours Humanly Nepal scholars complete school level.
STEM and Arts Programs
At Yours Humanly Nepal, we recognize the value of nurturing creativity and critical thinking through our growing STEM and Arts Programs. Currently centered around monthly art and craft activities, our program encourages self-expression and imagination among children and youth. These sessions provide hands-on opportunities to explore different techniques and materials, laying the groundwork for a broader visual arts education. We are preparing to launch structured painting courses that will include lessons on color theory, the use of various mediums, and access to quality art supplies. Looking ahead, we aim to expand into the STEM field by setting up a mini lab focused on engineering and robotics—where young learners can build devices like drones and simple machines. This initiative will offer a practical and inspiring introduction to science and technology, empowering children to explore future careers in innovation and design.
Dynamic Library Program
Yours Humanly Nepal’s Dynamic Library Program is dedicated to creating inclusive, child-friendly spaces that foster a love of reading and lifelong learning. By establishing libraries in underserved community centers and schools, we provide access to a diverse collection of books and educational resources, catering to children, youth, and families. These libraries serve as safe havens where children can explore literature, engage in creative activities, and develop critical thinking skills. Through our Bridging Gaps initiative, we aim to bridge the educational divide by offering equitable learning opportunities, nurturing curiosity, and empowering communities to support the educational journeys of their younger generations.
Disaster Relief
Yours Humanly Nepal’s Disaster Relief Program responds with compassion and urgency to the immediate and long-term needs of communities affected by natural and humanitarian crises. From providing emergency relief during the Gorkha earthquake and COVID-19 pandemic to supporting families displaced by annual floods, we have consistently stepped in with food supplies, hygiene kits, bedding, clothing, and essential school materials. Our efforts go beyond initial response—we help rebuild lives by restoring damaged classrooms, supplying school furniture, and offering art and educational materials that bring comfort and normalcy to children during times of upheaval. Through this program, we reaffirm our commitment to standing with vulnerable communities, ensuring children can continue their education and healing even in the aftermath of disaster.
Facility Needs
The physical condition of classrooms and schools plays a crucial role in shaping student well-being and their ability to learn effectively. When there are insufficient desks or chairs for all students, when essential facilities are lacking, or when the environment is uncomfortable, students face significant challenges in focusing and engaging in their studies. At Yours Humanly Nepal, we are dedicated to addressing these challenges by providing the necessary infrastructure to create safe and conducive learning environments. Our initiatives include providing classroom furniture like desks and benches, teacher's chairs and desks, whiteboards, carpets, drinking water storage tanks and connecting taps, fans, shoeracks, installing light bulbs, renovating toilets and indoor learning spaces and playgrounds. These improvements are designed to enhance the educational experience and ensure that students are equipped with the best possible environment in which to thrive.
Computers, Internet, and Technology
In today’s high-tech 21st century—where learning can happen anytime and from anywhere, and where opportunities increasingly transcend borders—computer literacy has become essential. Computers are now deeply woven into education, employment, communication, and everyday life. Yet, in many communities across Nepal, children from low-income backgrounds still face a stark digital divide, lacking access to the very tools that could shape their futures. At Yours Humanly Nepal, we believe that every child, regardless of socioeconomic status, deserves the chance to become digitally literate. That’s why we fund and provide computers, internet access, and other essential technologies for students; build fully equipped computer labs in underserved schools; establish community-based computer centers; and support computer instruction through our Fellowship Program. Our goal is to bridge the gap—bringing digital skills to the fingertips of children and youth who would otherwise be left behind, empowering them to learn, grow, and thrive in a digital world.
Awareness & Essential Training
Yours Humanly Nepal’s Awareness Campaign & Training Program is designed to build knowledge, strengthen soft and practical skills, and foster personal and professional growth among students, educators, caregivers, and community members. Through targeted workshops and training sessions, we address a wide range of topics including library management, public speaking, administrative skills, adolescent psychology, parenting approaches, and classroom management techniques. We also empower participants with practical tools in writing proposals, reports, and research papers, enhancing business communication, formal letter writing, and minute-taking practices. Additionally, we provide essential awareness and training on menstrual health and hygiene, leadership development, and an introduction to working in the nonprofit sector. These sessions aim to equip individuals with the confidence and capabilities to lead, support, and educate more effectively in both community and institutional settings.
