Sunaguthi Community Library 2024
📚 Sunakothi Community Library: A Vibrant Hub for Learning and Connection
The Sunakothi Community Library is Yours Humanly Nepal’s second community-based library, established in collaboration with Lalitpur Metropolitan City Ward No. 27. Nestled in the historic and culturally rich town of Sunakothi—home to a predominantly Newar community—this library offers a welcoming, child-friendly space for reading, play, and creative activities.
With a collection of over 1,000 books and games, the library caters to children of all ages, teenagers, young adults, and parents. It has become a cherished gathering place where families, including grandparents and stay-at-home mothers, come together to read, learn, and socialize.
All resources and memberships are managed through a Library Management System (LMS), implemented in partnership with Blackboard Nepal, ensuring efficient and organized access for all users.
The library has recently been entrusted to the Sunakothi Pustakalaya & Info Center, a local committee responsible for overseeing the entire facility, including the adjacent children’s park, playground, and computer center. This community-led approach ensures sustainability and fosters a sense of ownership among residents.
By bridging educational gaps and promoting equitable access to learning resources, the Sunakothi Community Library stands as a testament to Yours Humanly Nepal’s commitment to empowering communities through education.
