The school library at Mahendra Adarsha Vidyashram (MAV), established in 2021, marked Yours Humanly Nepal’s first step in transforming educational spaces. Located in Satdobato-15, Lalitpur Metropolitan City, MAV is a community-based school serving over 1,000 students, many of whom had never experienced a vibrant, child-centered library. Designed by interior designers to be visually engaging and welcoming, the library features dedicated reading and activity areas accessible through a central reception. Colorful racks for shoes and school bags line the entrance, encouraging cleanliness and order. Inside, students are greeted by shelves filled with enchanting storybooks, games, and educational resources that invite curiosity and joy—offering a stark and refreshing departure from the traditional libraries found in many Nepali schools, which often consist of outdated textbooks and heavy literary tomes. This space not only redefined what a library can be, but also ignited a love for reading and learning among MAV’s young learners.
